The Town
Unveil the Magic of Dogliani
The beautiful and historical town of Dogliani is home to two Presidents of the Italian Republic, the last Duke of Savoy, prolific architecture, extensive history, and Dogliani DOCG wine.
The specialty
Allure of the Wine
Dogliani DOCG wine is produced from the indigenous Dolcetto grape (meaning little sweet one) and is a favored traditional wine of the region, renowned for its intense ruby color, deep red fruit profile, and elegant balance.
Some of the most prominent local producers known for producing high quality, exclusive Dogliani DOCG wines, are Luigi Einaudi, Marziano Abbona, Chionetti, Azienda Pecchenino, and Ca’Viola. More importantly, Winemaker Beppe Ca’Viola is an Enological Consultant for many of the top wine producers in all of Italy. The Dolcetto varietal yields generous berry fruit with hints of flowers like violets. There is a wonderfully subtle savoriness, with enough tannin to balance richer foods but not overpower lighter dishes.
Architectural Wonders & Artisan Treasures
The centuries old town streets, churches, Duomo, artisanal craftsmen, and “newer” 19th Century architecture, from the esteemed local architect, Giovanni Battista Schellino, make Dogliani a preferred travel destination.
